This project documents the lineage of Shaykh Sulaiman and his descendants.

The tree is presented in a patrilineal (agnatic) format, meaning the line of descent is traced through the sons of Shaykh Sulaiman and their male descendants.

From an Islamic perspective, children are attributed to their fathers, and women retain their father’s names rather than adopting new surnames.

Accordingly:

  • Daughters and spouses are included by name
  • the continuation of the core tree proceeds through sons

This method is not intended to exclude or diminish the female lines. Families descending through daughters are warmly encouraged to provide their own extended trees, which can then be linked back to the main history.

Work in progress, insha’Allah.
